SONGS THAT WON THE WAR was written by Clive Render, who was a boy in England during World War 2, to be performed on 11.11. 2011. It proved to be so popular that it has
become an Ipswich Musical Theatre Company (IMTC) tradition to perform it each year on
the Sunday prior to Remembrance Day.
We hear the speeches by Chamberlain, Churchill and Eisenhower and the songs and music
made popular during the war years by Vera Lynn, Hanagan & Allen, Glen Miller & Bing Crosby, sung by our regular singers: Ray Chandler, Clive Render, Ken Mundt, Simon Drew, Alex Andujar, Alan Brown, Elise Pickersgill, Lauren Roche, Elyse Rea, Sarah Shipton, Melissa Bird. Some of the cast of The Phantom of the Opera will join us this year too, including principal characters:
Nathan Kneen (The Phantom) songs: You Are My Heart’s Delight & Girls Were Made to
Love and Kiss
Bryleigh Parsons-Pope (Christine) song: Some Day My Heart Will Awake
Elise Pickersgill (Carlotta) songs: The White Cliffs of Dover & Waltz of My Heart.
Melissa Bird (Meg Giry) song: Love Is My Reason
